Association for Consumer Debt Relief Welcomes Jason Mulvihill as New President and Chief Executive Officer

Washington, D.C., June 10, 2025—The Association for Consumer Debt Relief (ACDR), the leading advocate for the debt relief industry nationwide, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Mulvihill as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“In this pivotal time for the debt relief industry, Jason is well-positioned to advance ACDR’s mission and help consumers across the country who are grappling with unsecured debt,” said ACDR Chairman Dan Frazier. “His leadership and expertise will help create a more unified voice for the industry, strengthen our advocacy efforts, and most importantly support responsible access to regulated, accredited debt relief services that protect and help consumers with financial recovery.”

Mulvihill brings extensive leadership, legal, and policy expertise to the organization. He has spent the past two decades in leadership roles at the intersection of financial services, technology, policy, and politics. He previously served as President of Capitol Asset Strategies, a leading consulting and advocacy firm. He also formerly served for over twelve years as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at the American Investment Council, the primary private equity and private credit trade association, where he spearheaded successful advocacy efforts on numerous high-profile tax, legislative and regulatory issues. Before his tenure at AIC, Mulvihill held senior roles on Capitol Hill, serving first as senior Commerce Committee staff and then as a Legislative Director and Chief Counsel in the United States Senate.

“I am honored and thrilled to join the ACDR team and look forward to advancing a fair, transparent, and consumer-first debt relief industry,” said Mulvihill. “ACDR members’ commitment to consumers is more important than ever. Consumer debt delinquencies are on the rise in the United States, and many Americans need access to safe, compliant and effective options with proven successful outcomes to manage their unsecured debt.”

As President and CEO, Mulvihill will lead ACDR’s efforts to work collaboratively with regulators, educate consumers and policymakers about the debt relief industry, uphold rigorous compliance and ethical standards, and expand responsible access to accredited debt relief services nationwide.
